MIPIM mission accomplished
As the sun sets on MIPIM 2019, a wealth of opportunities are on the horizon after our first trip to the world-famous international property event under our new group status.
After our group business structure was firmly established in 2017, we decided a trip to MIPIM this year was a must, to raise awareness of the end-to-end service that our group businesses collectively provide to our clients.
Russell Martin, Phil Roberts and Philip Moore joined me from the group and we shared our villa with JMW Solicitors and one of our key student property developers. Our ever-present driver Carl made the 900 mile drive to Cannes, to make sure we all got to our meetings on time whilst getting our brand visible around the conference.
After a fantastic week in MIPIM, Caliber Group has meetings set up on four new residential development sites and has gained a care sector contact who is interested in one of the larger development sites we are selling. We additionally met two new mixed use/PRS site developers looking for sites in Birmingham, which assists on our recent city centre instructions.
As well as increasing our architect database, we agreed a new working relationship with Den Architecture and further consolidated our working relationship with JMW Solicitors. Both agreements will help to increase our presence in the north of England.
After a meeting and kind lunch invite from Gateley Hamer, we have potentially increased offers on two of our existing sites by better understanding the service they provide with regards to the utilities companies.
If that didn’t keep us busy enough, we also met up with one of our offshore investors and hopefully secured a pre-sale on a large development site in Birmingham!
While we were away, the team at the office secured a planning permission for 72 units scheme, exchanged on the purchase of a further housing association site in the West Midlands and secured three new landowners who want us to act on their behalf.
Sounds like a winning week all round.
